How do I find out if my Peugeot 106 is a mark one or two?

I have recently purchased a P-Reg 1997 Peugeot 106 and I need to have the clutch cable replaced. The cables are different for mark one and two and I wondered of there was a way to find out which mark mine is without looking at the clutch cable. I do not have the log book from the DVLA yet. Any help would be much appreciated.|||the log book wouldnt show if its a mk1 or 2....any car shop worth its salt will look at it for you and give you the correct cable..

check links bellow...first link is the mk1,second the mk2...notice the shape of the front lights and grille.|||the mark one peugeot 106 had the smaller headlamps and believe it or not most of them were only four speed, they were updated at the end of 1996 and given 5 speed gear boxes and bigger headlamps, so with yours being a 1997 i would think its a mark 2 but you can tell straight away by looking at the headlamps|||If your boot lock has a peugeot logo on it, then you have a series two. If it's smaller and just black, it's a series one.

Also, the series two has a big embossed peugeot logo on the bonnet and a series one has a cheap plastic badge.|||i think it,s a mk 1 but you will probably have the face lift model i think they came out about p-97 but i could be wrong take your reg number to motor factors they should give you the right part if not take it to peugeot and ask them|||Normally the "motor factors" etc, request your "reg No of your car"

%26amp;" Vin No off the car" and normally they can tell you what part you need.|||If it's a 1997 Peugeot 106 than it's definitely a mark two ;]
