Removing battery cover so i can jump start another car peugeot 308?

hi guys i have a peugeot 308 i want to jump start an old clio but i cant get into my batter.

the possative terminal is visable but the negative is coverd by some god awfull plastic covering.

any ideas on how to remove this or can i still jump without removing it.|||Just put the negative anywhere on the body where you can get a good earth, the neg term from the battery is just connected to the car body|||What jigs means by "Good earth", in case you're not familiar, is anything that is metal on the engine. So hook up your positive cable to the positive battery terminal, and hook up your negitive cable to anything metal (that doesn't move!)

It's actually safer practice to use anything besides the ground terminal on the battery when jump starting a car.|||My battery was the same. Must admit I ripped the damn cover off the terminal by brute force, not to put too fine a point on it.|||suggest to find vehicle (ground )metal close to the battery ground and use it as a ground.
