My Peugeot will only power the cigarette lighter with the ignition on?

My previous car [Ford] was a permanent live feed to the cigarette lighter/power socket. The benifit being that when camping, I could charge stuff via this power source without leaving the keys, unattended, in the ignition. Can I alter the Peugeot to do the same?|||All you need to do is run a new wire from the lighter to the battery.
