Peugeot 207 wont start properly early morning or late at night?

If its early in the morning or late at night, my Peugeot 207 1.6 VTI will only start with my foot on the accelerator. Even then it sound as if its choking and about to stall but then it will catch and rev (and then its as if nothing ever happened!). Can anyone shed any light on this?? The car starts fine in the middle of the day.|||Replace the fuel pump|||i know it may sound silly but get your battery checked PROPERLY.have seen them not cranking over just hard/fast enough-sounds like is it hard/fast enough but it may not actually be.once new battery fitted they start fine.your battery will be effected by the cold.test/change battery..will cure it
